Accountable to: Pastor and the Board of Lay Ministry.
Qualifications include:
- Ability to support the Pastor with administrative duties and office management
- Understand the need for and ability to respect confidentiality
- Work well with a variety of people
- Independent worker, detail-oriented, organized
- Ability to meet established weekly deadlines as well as prioritize special projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and familiarity with QuickBooks, MS Publisher, Propresenter, and e-mail
- Ability to use all standard office equipment including multi-line phones, a fax machine, and photocopy machines
- High school diploma and at least two years of office experience
Duties include:
- Preparation and mailing of church newsletter
- Maintain church membership & attendance records
- Check and order church materials & other supplies as needed
- Preparation of weekly bulletins and PowerPoint/Propresenter to be used in worship services as well as special service bulletins
- Maintain Financial records, pay bills, make deposits
- Maintain Payroll including filing for Federal and State Withholding taxes
- Preparation of reports for District and LCMS
- Serve as intermediary between the public at large and Friendship Lutheran
- General straightening (Mondays)
- Additional duties and special projects as needed
Other relevant information:
- 12/18 hours per week with occasional additional hours required
- Non-smoking environment
